Following the directive from the Federal and state governments mandating all educational institutions to shut down following the outbreak of the COVID-19 infections around the country, the National Universities Commission has written to all Vice Chancellors of universities in the country. The instruction was sent to all Vice Chancellors in a letter from the office of the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission and it stated that all universities should be closed in accordance with the government’s instructions. The closure was to commence on the 23rd of March 2020 for an initial 30 day period. A reopening date will be confirmed in due time.
