After the unfortunate incidence that happened at the University’s permanent site Kasarami along Kaduna-Abuja expressway on the 20th of April 2021, the Council of the University commissioned a review of the incidence and it was discovered that part of the issue had to do with idealness, poverty and illiteracy, a problem that is common through out the whole country. Accordingly, on relocation to our city campus, the Council mandated the Management to address the problem in our new location in any way possible to avoid reoccurrence. The Pro Chancellor a renowned engineer together with members of the University community swung into action. He and the University community identified artisans as plumbers, electricians, painters, carpenters, iron benders from our host community (Kudenda) to create a team to be directly under the Pro Chancellor . The team was assembled to work on our immediate requirement of building a multipurpose laboratory for Bio-technology, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The team swung into action and delivered the laboratory in record time as shown in the pictures.
In view of the special love the Pro Chancellor has for his Alma-Mater the University of Ife, he recommended for the Council to approve the naming of the facility after the Oni of Ife and efforts are being made to contact him for the commissioning.
